Itinerary
Day 01 :
Nairobi – Arrival in Kigali – City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
- Depart Nairobi on a morning flight to Kigali International Airport.
- Meet and greet at the airport by your driver-guide.
- Enjoy a Kigali city tour:
- Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, and art galleries.
- Lunch in Kigali or en route.
- Drive to Volcanoes National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hours).
- Check-in at your lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes.
- Dinner & overnight in Musanze/Volcanoes area.
Day 02 :
Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
- Early breakfast and transfer to park headquarters for registration and briefing.
- Begin the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience – hike through the forest to meet a habituated gorilla family.
- Spend 1 hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat.
- Return to lodge for lunch and a relaxed afternoon.
- Optional: Visit Dian Fossey Museum or enjoy a massage at the lodge.
- Dinner & overnight at Volcanoes lodge.
Day 03 :
Golden Monkey Tracking (Optional) – Transfer to Lake Kivu
- Optional early morning Golden Monkey Tracking or cultural village visit.
- Breakfast and scenic drive to Lake Kivu – Rwanda’s most beautiful lake.
- Check-in at a lakefront hotel/resort in Gisenyi.
- Afternoon at leisure:
- Swimming, kayaking, boat cruise, or lakeside relaxation.
- Explore local coffee plantations or bike along the Congo Nile Trail (optional).
- Dinner & overnight at Lake Kivu.
Day 04 :
Lake Kivu to Kigali
- Breakfast by the lake.
- Morning at leisure or enjoy optional water activities.
- Drive back to Kigali in the afternoon.
- Optional shopping stop at Caplaki Craft Market.
- Check-in at a Kigali hotel.
- Dinner & overnight in Kigali.
Day 05 :
Kigali – Return Flight to Nairobi
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Depending on flight time, enjoy free time or optional visit to Kimironko Market.
- Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your return flight to Nairobi.
- End of the tour.
